Rob's 97 powers 3s to first win Rob Slack hit 97 to help charge the thirds to their first win of the season in defeating Stevenage 5ths. After both openers fell cheaply, he had a magnificent stand of 128 with Adam Hassall (37). A quick 50 from Jonathan Cirkel piled on the pressure helped by a late cameo from Richard Wheeler ( 22) took them to 234 -7. A wonder ball (ranks with Warne to Gatting!) saw Troy Keartland remove their opener first ball and set the scene for their innings. Drew Myles bowled with menace at the other end and picked up two further wicke Under 13 spinner Finn Hobbs also bagged two wickets while David Mantle, Ian Murrell and Wheeler ensured there was no late charge and Stevenage finished 126-6. Seconds fail to join the winning party The second team couldn't complete a winning sequence for the club, losing by five wickets to Hertford 3rds. The Park's batting never got going with four players all making good starts, James Bedford top scoring with 28 but not building a big score in a total of 165 all out, unable to use seven of their alloted overs. Knebworth started well with the ball with a wicket in second over and having reduced Hertford to 50-4 they were not able to make further inroads.
