The rain over the last couple of weeks has caused all clubs to struggle with ground preparation and also cancellation of pre-season training and fixtures BUT we at Knebworth Park are still excited for the new season.
With junior membership on the increase and winter training having been a success, fixtures for the season have been arranged and teams getting ready for their league action. This includes the U11 & U13 girls teams too who hopefully will see several players transition to the Women’s side in years to come.
The seniors also had a good series of winter nets with attendance up on previous years and we welcomed several new players who we hope will enjoy their time at the Park. The women’s side will be competing in the Home Counties league for the 2nd year hoping to build on their excellent inaugural season last year.
We can also announce the captains for the season – Matt Hutchinson will lead the Saturday 1st XI as we thank Adam Sergeant for his years in charge, Mark Woods returns as 2nd XI captain, Miles Baron moves up to the 3s and Ryan Loonan takes charge of the 4s. Alice Baird takes over as women’s captain and Ian Hildebrandt will captain the Sunday XI.
Despite the appalling weather recently, the ground still looks fantastic re-affirming KPCC as probably the most attractive place to play or watch cricket in Herts. A real testament to the hard work of Chris Johnson and his team of helpers.
We would love to see any players come and join us whether wanting to move from another club, re-start their cricketing careers or just starting out with cricket. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more info
Senior training takes place Tuesday & Thursday evenings and junior training Sunday mornings
