The firsts notched up their ninth win of the season against Potton to strengthen their promotion push from the Saracens Herts League Division 3a.
The home side were set for a huge total at 166 for 2 at halfway before the Park’s spinners turned it their way in taking eight wickets for only 22 runs.
In reply though three of Knebworth’s front line batsmen fell for ducks. But half centuries from Louis Champion and Matt Hutchinson led them towards victory.
Potton’s opening bat Sean Stevens 86 and No 3 Jack Brooks 46 had the Park struggling before Hutchinson 2 for 36, Alex Richmond 3 for 52 and Louis Champion 3 for 21 swung it their way, along with Hutch taking three fine catches.
In reply there was an early setback when Josh Roseberry fell for 0. Skipper Adam Sergeant 16 supported Champion but after Sergeant was out, they then lost two more wickets.
Hutch 56 and Champ 59 gave the chase momentum to put them in with a winning chance.
When both were out there was still much work to do and Rob Morley 21 not out and Charlie Randall 13 not out took them home to 192 for 6, leaving them still seven points behind leaders West Herts and 79 clear of near neighbours Datchworth in third place.
The second team won their third match in the last four outings to overcome high riding Watton at Stone by four wickets to lift them out of the relegation spot for the first time.
Niels Hart 2 for 32 and Sam Heron 2 for 36 gave Park a useful start.
Under 13 George Nevill 1 for 15 then impressed on his debut to add a further wicket before the spinners Ben Parkash 2 for 12, Asif Mahmood 2 for 7 and Graham Fisher 1 for 20 completed the task in bowling out the visitors for 135.
Skipper Mark Woods 35, Mahmood 16 and Parkash 39 led a positive reply before James Hobbs and Luke Mably calmly nudged them home after a brief collapse with 139 for 6.
The fourths lost to unbeaten Lutonians managing 134 in reply to the visitors 217, Richard Wheeler and David Mantle both bagged three wickets while Ryan Loonan 29 top scored for Knebworth.
