It’s nearly here… the biggest weekend at the club for years, with the Firsts poised to land an historic double.
Guy Warman’s men play their final league fixture of the season on Saturday. They are already assured of promotion back to Division One but a victory over St Albans on Saturday will mean they go up as champions.
Then, on Sunday, they play Broxbourne in the Readers Herts Trophy Final. They will be competing in the final for the first time in ten years and victory will be a great filip for the team heading into next season.
There are other important matters to decide, too, over the weekend. On Saturday, the Thirds will be playing Bushey II in a crucial game to secure their Division 7a status. Win and they stay up, lose and they are dependent on other results.
After Saturday’s games, there will be the annual presentations, a chance to reflect on the ups and downs of the season and reward our top performers. It’s usually a happy occasion no matter what the results on the pitch.
If you are about this weekend, please pop down to the club and lend your support. It promises to be an exciting and enjoyable two days to round off what has been a very good season for Knebworth Park.
