The season may be over but there’s still some key events coming up at the cricket club.
WORK PARTY
First of all, on Saturday, October 8, we have the Big Clean-up Work Party. We need plenty to help put everything away for the winter and tidy up the pavilion, the ground, nets and storage areas. All these tasks may seem mundane, but are vital for the smooth running of the club.
There’s a task there for everyone. It starts at 9.30. We’ll have bacon butties to fuel your efforts and afterwards liquid refreshments to help the recovery!
So you all know, the renovation of the squares is being carried out by outside contractors with their hi-tech machinery which is a far more efficient process instead of the hard labour of a few members – and that means the work party can concentrate on all the other very important tasks.
QUIZ NIGHT
This will be held on Friday 14 October starting at 7.30. It’s being run by Emma O’Brien and, if last year’s event is anything to go by, it’ll be a rip-roaring success. It’s £5 each on tables of six and this will include a bread and cheese supper. Hurry as tables are going fast. Please let Emma know on 07957 914871 or emma@daisydustbusters.co.uk as soon as possible if you’d like so come. Obviously, less than six people can be accommodated to join in with others on tables.
We hope that lots of players and juniors’ parents will be able to come along.
DRINK THE BAR DRY
On Friday 28 October we have an 80s music night with Fosters and Estrella at ridiculous prices as we have stock that must go. More info to follow.
TED’S MEMORIAL DAY
On Sunday 6 November we raise a glass or two to Ted Skeggs who did so much for the club over the course of 30 years. It’s always a great family and club day. Starts at 1.30 and with a number of special food treats.
HIRE THE CLUB OR ORGANISE A PARTY
The club is available for hire for functions OR if anyone wants to organise a party of their own, please get in touch with Emma (see her details above) or Chris Johnson.
