We have a very special guest at the club on Wednesday next week (August 31) when England star Lydia Greenway stops by to run coaching sessions for county youngsters.
After the hard work on the field, Lydia, who recently retired from international cricket after a 13-year playing career, will be in the clubhouse for a special Q&A session.
Middle-order batter Lydia was known as one of the best fielders in the game, often pulling off spectacular catches in the deep. She played 14 Tests, 126 ODIs and 85 T20s. She also hit the winning runs in the final of the recent women’s cricket super league.
She will be passing on all that knowledge during batting and fielding masterclasses with the county girls from about 5pm.
Afterwards, the barbecue will be fired up and from about 8.30pm she will be answering questions about the sport and her career.
This will be a tremendous occasion for the county girls to learn from one of the most respected players in the game and something of a coup to have her at the club.
Everyone is invited to the Q&A afterwards so please show your support.
