Every week, we thank the member or supporter who has gone that extra mile to help make our wonderful club that little bit more wonderful. We’d like to offer them a holiday in the sun or the latest smartphone for their selflessness but instead they will have to make do with this small public thank-you.
More of a hero – or heroes and heroines of the month – as we have missed a couple of weeks. So, we have several people to salute this week, beginning with Alex Richmond for sorting out the sightscreens, which had come loose and were something of an eyesore on the bottom ground. Our junior team managers are all superstars but, in particular we salute Marisa Robson for organising the under-nines to play five matches in eight days recently. John Inman also deserves an honourable mention for managing the under-15s, often while working overseas, challenged by a small squad, juggling availability of players and opposition date availability, yet still always getting out a team. Furthermore, we are thankful for Wayne O’Brien for his sterling efforts on Sunday to help make the County Girls under-15 day a success and David Baird for organising the day so well.
PS Apologies for the terrible effort with the picture… John, Wayne (geddit) but no chance of getting all of our fantastic five in the same frame!!
