There’s no one hero this week… there are too many of you to salute. Last Friday, was one of the busiest ever when the club was used for a social cricket match and memorial party for about 200 people. The evening was a great success all round but only thanks to the huge efforts of Lara, Nick English, Paul Sheffield, Charlie Randall, Ken Batt and Mark Folwell (as well as the chairman, who is not allowed to nominate himself). It was a fantastic night, with friends of the club several deep at the bar, and was responsible for a few sore heads the next day, no doubt. Also, let us salute Richard Roomans who ruptured his Achilles tendon the previous week but even having his leg in plaster didn’t stop him from running his under-12 coaching session on Sunday morning.
Every week, we thank the member or supporter who has gone that extra mile to help make our wonderful club that little bit more wonderful. We’d like to offer them a holiday in the sun or the latest smartphone for their selflessness but instead they will have to make do with this small public thank-you.
