The start of the new season is just around the corner. We’ve just two more Saturday indoor training sessions at Nobel School before the first outdoor training sessions.
WORK PARTY – APRIL 3
Before the season begins we have the pre-season work party which is on Good Friday, April 3, at 9am. Do make every effort to attend so that we can have the club all ready for the start. There’s key tasks to tidy up the clubhouse, lift and wheel the sightscreens in to place and get the nets area ready. Bobby Orlandi, our new social champion, will be cooking up some bacon butties to stoke up the workers.
FIRST OUTDOOR TRAINING SESSIONS
For the juniors the opening outdoor session will be on Sunday, April 12, while the seniors opening sessions will be on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from April 14 at 6pm.
FIRST GAMES
The opening senior games are on Saturday, April 18, with the Firsts playing Indian Gymkhana followed with the visiting of a touring side on Sunday, April 19. There are matches the following two weekends before the league programme for all five senior elevens kick off on May 9. The juniors fixtures begin on April 22 when the under-nines open up against North Mymms.
PAY YOUR SUBS ASAP PLEASE
Everyone needs to think now about paying subscriptions where we need to do a lot better this year in paying them promptly. We’re also making it easier for you with a new online subs payment facility, ClubPay. It’s important that everyone pays by this avenue to help in the management of the membership and subscriptions. This site is also available by clicking through from our subs page. Make this one of your favourites so you can keep up to date with club news and also join the club’s Facebook.
FUNDRAISING
As well as looking forward to a successful season on the field, we’ve also got to look forward to the new ground plans where we need to put fundraising plans in place. Fundraising activities will play a role as well as looking for volunteers to take on key tasks in helping with admin and networking tasks. Away from this priority, we are also seeking grant aid to improve the nets surfaces, and the bowling machine is also being repaired.
The No.1 aim in the year ahead is to enjoy our cricket, raise our standards and to enjoy ourselves off the field.
GET KITTED OUT
The senior elevens will again have the same kit supplier as last year which was very popular. If you need a new shirt or tracksuit etc, please contact Robbo – Shaun Robinson on 07834716227. You can see also the details here
