It’s about minus 12 outside, the last of the Christmas turkey is still festering at the back of the fridge and probably the last thing on your mind is warm, sunny days playing cricket at beautiful Knebworth Park.
But preparation for the new season is under way and begins in earnest at the annual meeting being held on Friday (January 9) at the ground starting at 8pm.
It’s never been more vital that we get a good turn out as the very future of the club will be under discussion. We have just got planning permission for our new ground and you will hear all about the ideas for the way forward. This will be the first step on a very long, very interesting journey for our club.
Apart from that, there is a host of other very important business to get through. There are club officials to elect… time to endorse the efforts of those who have worked their socks off on your behalf for the past 12 months or maybe you want to throw your hat in the ring and contribute?
It’s your chance to elect team captains? Fed up with the way your skipper runs things? Then, why not come along and have your say or take on the role yourself?
Do you have a beef about the way something is run and want to offer some positive suggestions on how improve things? If it’s seemingly trivial or a groundbreaking idea to improve cricket for everyone, then you should be there to have your say.
So, please make a date in the diary – January 9, 8pm, KPCC Pavilion – and be there to have a say in the future of your club.
