You might thing the biggest thing happening the weekend is a bonfire night party and some fireworks.
You’d be wrong; in fact, it is the start of indoor training for Knebworth Park juniors on Saturday at the fantastic new facilities at Nobel School.
The club is offering sessions for all the junior age groups throughout the winter months.
Saturday’s sessions are split into two slots; the under-nines to under-13s will run from 4pm to 5pm and the under-14s to under-17s will run from 5pm to 6pm.
Junior chairman Russell Haggar said: ‘For those that don’t know it, Nobel has one of the best sports halls of any school in the county – it’s modern, state of the art, and ideal for cricket.
‘We’ll be using all four lanes so that the children can train with others of the same ability. The training will be run by the club’s junior coaches.
‘This is a great way of keeping up the children’s interest and skills during the off months and will prepare them really well for the 2015 playing season.
‘It will also complement and build on any training that they receive from the Charlie, area or county cricket training programmes if they’re involved in these.
‘Finally, this is a great chance to introduce new children to the fun of cricket, regardless of previous experience or ability.
‘We’re fortunate at Knebworth that we can offer cricket for all abilities and we’d love to expand our juniors section even further.
‘Anyone who’s new to our club can try us out for a free session without any commitment – so please bring along a friend or three!’
The pre-Christmas sessions run from until December 13. In the new year, we start on January 10 and go on until March 28.
To cover the hall hire, the cost is £5 per player per session. Alternatively, you can pay in advance at £25 for any of the six-week blocks – the pre-Christmas block, the January 10 to February 14 block or the February 21 to March 28 sessions.
