Tonderful: Michael Rayner
It was quite a week for memorable performances with a lengthy list of people who deserve a mention.
Shaun Robinson’s Michelle was crucial in getting the Firsts back to winning ways. David Sands’ century completed a terrific win for the Fifths and what a wonderful moment for under-17 Jo Barnes, who took his first hat-trick in senior cricket. Finally, Benji Cowell deserves a special mention for becoming the latest Knebworth Park player to appear for the full Hertfordshire side when he played against Cumberland. All of you, take a bow!
But the award goes to the talented Michael Rayner, who returned to form in spectacular form with a wonderful century which came oh-so close to securing victory.
Every week, the chairman will select the player who has produced the most exceptional cricketing performance of the weekend programme. It won’t necessarily be the highest scorer nor the bowler who has the best figures but someone who has produced that little bit of magic to win a game or turn a match around. We hope his or her team-mates join the celebration by paying for their drinks at the bar.
