Top effort: Ben Orchard in action with the bat against North Mymms PICTURE: MIKE JONES
A tricky choice this week. Special mention must go to Bobby Crowe for his all-round efforts, a half-century and superb bowling stint, albeit in a losing cause for the Fourths. There were half-centuries for Sayf-Ali Khan and Parth Patel in the Firsts and well done to Louis Heap for a maiden half-century for the Thirds. The Seconds were the only team to win this weekend and the all-round efforts of skipper Guy Warman were instrumental in the success. But the award goes to Ben Orchard who also took five wickets in the game and impressed everybody with his control, pace and skill. It was a phenomenal effort, which meant the last seven North Mymms batsmen all scored ducks.
Every week, the chairman will select the player who has produced the most exceptional cricketing performance of the weekend programme. It won’t necessarily be the highest scorer nor the bowler who has the best figures but someone who has produced that little bit of magic to win a game or turn a match around. We hope his or her team-mates join the celebration by paying for their drinks at the bar.
Boom.. Top work Ben..
Well done!
