WHAT comes in sixes? Eggs. Packs of beer. Number of balls in an over… or in the box in the picture above.
Oh, yes… and it’s exactly the number of players needed to make up a side for the Park’s next big family cricket day.
We need teams for our sixes tournament, which will be held at the club on Sunday, July 20.
It will be a fun-packed family day, where the cricket will, hopefully, be all-out action with plenty of another kind of sixes… those smacked over the boundary. As ever, the bar will be open with hot food on the barbie.
Chairman Chris Johnson is keen to see as many teams as possible taking part and a big crowd cheering them on, too.
He said: ‘We need members, friends, families, to get together to make up teams. It will be a fun, competitive day suitable for the able and not-so-good players.
‘How about a Randall, Woods, Orchard or Holmes family team or a Corehard team? Or what about a crack squad made up of parents from the under-10s or under-14s.?
‘It doesn’t cost anything to enter but people need to start organising their teams now so they don’t miss out on this ever-popular event.
‘If you can’t get a team together please come along and show your support and we can make this another really special day at the Park.’
If you want to take part let Chris know on 07867 580492. At the very least, make a date in your diaries; the action starts at 11am.
