Stuart Burford’s batting gave the side some hope
Knebworth Park Second Team were brought back down to earth on Saturday with a lacklustre performance away from home against a good Hertford team.
Winning the toss and putting the opposition in, was soon looking like a mistake for the Park. Hertford batted superbly all day, rattling up 269-5 in the process.
With only Guy Warman (4-93) showing any sign of getting a wicket all day, the rest of the bowlers could not demonstrate enough consistency to make a breakthrough.
In an attempt to chase down the large score, Park were always on top of the run rate but could not put that vital partnership together, with only Burford and McCrow showing any signs of making the large score required but both were out in the end to poor shots.
In the end, the Hertford bowling attack made light work of the KPCC line-up, skittling them out for 150 in 35 overs.
Next week, Park travel to local rivals Stevenage in a must-win game if they are to push for promotion this year.
