IT’S that time of the year when the season is in full flow and things get busy, busy, busy.
So get your diaries out – electronic or old-fashioned paper and pencil ones – and please make a note of all the special events coming up.
Tomorrow (Thursday), it’s a busy night with training – please note that Charlie Randall has put out a three-line whip on this as all sides need to step up their performances – followed by the England-Uruguay game and barbecue. The under-14s are at home to Welwyn Garden City.
Next week, we host a Herts over-60s game on Tuesday (June 24) and then a club game against Stage on Wednesday (June 25). It’s a 2.30pm start and we still need players, so contact Eddie Large on 07801570401 or Chris Johnson on 07867580492 if you can play.
On the weekend of June 27 to 29, it’s going to be hectic at the club with a private 50th birthday party on the Fridayand the Knebworth Youth FC presentation day on Sunday with live bands in the evening. All are welcome and we could do with a few extra helping hands for the event, too.
Also please make a note of our mini cricket week, with the Roving Reporters all day on Thursday, July 24, and then the flagship day on Friday, July 25, taking on the Hugh Bateson XI match for the Frank Manning Memorial Trophy.
Chris Johnson said: ‘This is a terrifically busy time for the club on top of our usual programme of league fixtures, junior matches and social games. We need as many members as possible to support the events that are coming up, either by taking part, volunteering to help or just coming along and cheering on the action.’
