Running a successful, vibrant bar is vital to the club’s fortunes. Not only does it provide valuable income, it makes our club a friendly, sociable play to meet, talk and make friends in the cricketing community.
But it doesn’t run itself. We are extremely grateful to, among others, social secretary Nick English and his partner, Lara, for the tremendous effort they have put in to keeping everything ticking over smoothly and even winning over the committee to maintain the ten per cent discount for members!!!
They can’t do it all so it’s a good time to call in more hands to man the pumps.
It might sound like hard work… but what could be better than meeting friends, serving them a few drinks and talking about cricket, sport, the meaning of life or wherever the bar-room banter takes you.
While we have help on hand at the weekend, the bar is being manned by volunteers during the weekdays. it’s a really busy time at the club with juniors games, training nights and a host of special events at the club so the more people get involved the better.
A bar committee has been set up chaired by Andy Holmes with the Leather twins James and Richard co-ordinating the bar duty rota.
Andy can be contacted on 07773369534 and Richard 07939859016 and James 07960172584.
If you don’t fancy pulling pints then we could also need volunteers to man the barbecue, which is fired up most evenings. please contact the numbers above or chairman Chris Johnson on 07867580492 if you fancy flipping a few burgers.
