Dave Mantle’s Fifths were the only side to emerge with much credit on a soggy day which saw three league sides’ fixtures wiped out by the weather.
The Fifths earned a creditable draw against a strong Bentley Heath II side on the bottom pitch at the Park. James Wareham notched a half-century as the home side were bowled out for 153 but the bowlers did enough to prevent defeat by holding the visitors to 141-4.
The Firsts, Seconds and Sixths all saw their games lost to the showers while the Thirds and Fourths both slipped to disappointing defeats.
Graham Fisher claimed six wickets as the Thirds bowled out Bentley Heath for 140 but it always looked a stiff ask on a damp wicket with some extravagant bounce. Ian Woods top-scored with 29 as the Thirds succumbed by 25 runs.
The Fourths were bundled out for 124 on the top pitch at home and the visitors raced home for the loss of just one wicket. OnlyPru Korivi emerged with much credit, joint-top scoring with 29 and taking the only wicket to fall.
