The Leather twins powered the Sunday XI towards a comfortable win over new opponents Primrose Hill – a team that embodied all that is good about friendly cricket.
James struck 76 while brother Richard (pictured above) was out for 52. Parth Patel and Chris Carrol pitched in with 18 apiece as a flurry of wickets caused some scurrying for pads in the changing room.
But there was no need for a rush as Sean Carmody 11 not out and under-14 Matt Inman saw the Park home to 202 for 4.
Earlier, the visitors batted spiritedly in adding 201 for 6 with skipper Eddie Large using seven bowlers to give the visitors full opportunity to set a testing target.
Primrose Hill then showed the off-the-field skills that are so often missing with a few thoroughly enjoyable beers to conclude an ideal Sunday game of cricket.
