KNEBWORTH Park enjoyed a brilliant start to the league campaign with three of the four teams in action recording excellent wins.
The Firsts saw off Hoddesdon thanks to an all-round team effort. New skipper Charlie Randall led from the front with a top score of 42 to take his side to 207 all out. In reply, the visitors appeared to be heading to victory at 111-1 before collapsing to 154 all out, Luke Chapman claiming 4-12.
In Division 3, the Seconds cruised to an eight-wicket victory at Potton Town. They restricted the home side to 157, with young leg spinner Jason Timm taking three wickets before Adrian Holmes led the Park home with 83 not out.
The Fourths also enjoyed a comfortable victory against North Mymms, bundling out the visitors for just 111, with young spinner Harvey Turner claiming 4-40. They knocked off the runs for the loss of four wickets, Paul Sheffield top scoring with 33 not out.
Graham Fisher’s Third XI were the only losers of the day. Having restricted Hoddesdon IIs to 140 in their 53 overs, their batting frailities were once again exposed as they fell 17 runs short.
