Coach Karun Jethi heaped praise on the Firsts after they bounced back from a difficult week to claim their second league victory on Saturday.
The former Canada one-day player, pictured above, says the talented young side is showing plenty of character, proving doubters wrong with their strong showing so far this term.
Karun told the KPCC website: ‘It was a difficult task ahead of us at the start of the season. I believe most of the people in KPCC thought we would perform same as last year but I’m proud of the way the boys have come out and played so far like champions that they are.
‘Win or lose I’m proud of my boys and I stand by them any day.
‘I’m really proud of the way they showed their true character by playing the best to their abilities.
‘I know we are only one game away from the top position but a lot of work still need to be done.
‘I am happy that Charlie is really leading by example and it’s good to see Robo and Parth playing up to their potential.
‘At the end of the day, cricket is a team game and I’m know every player in my team is giving his 100 per cent every time he walks in.
‘As I have told the boys from day one, if we do the basics right and give 100 per cent then we will be hard to beat.
‘I have played international and first-class cricket for a long time and, with that experience, I can say the talent we have is hard to match.
”The boys are really having a good time and net sessions and during games and that what cricket is all about.
‘All I would like to tell anyone is that when it come to my boys, the best is yet to come.’
