HE is valued at an eye-watering £15million but Graham Fisher is emerging as the top pick in this year’s Knebworth Park fantasy cricket competition.
The Third XI skipper is clearly many people’s fancy to pile up the points by repeating his extraordinary league performances of last year, when he took 50 wickets.
He’s likely to be a popular skipper, too; last year, he selected himself to lead his fantasy team and the double points he earned himself meant he walked away with the £120 top prize from the competition.
However, there is less interest in all-action all-rounder Guy Warman, who won the trophy last year for scoring most points on the pitch. Perhaps players are being put off by his £17.5million price tag.
If you want to join the fantasy league, now is the time to go for it, as with the league season nearly upon us there are a couple of days left to apply.
It’s a fun way to inject a little extra spice into the league season, earn yourself a cash prize and, more importantly, raise a few quid for the club.
The rules are simple; you have £100million to build your side and hope they earn you points for runs scored, wickets and catches taken. it costs a measly tenner and the more people that enter the bigger the prize pool.
There’s even a whizzy new website where you enter and pay your fee.
Organiser Ross Courtney said: ”There have been about ten people who have registered but not paid yet and their team will not be entered into the league until they do.
‘As for anyone who enters after the start of the season, they will only start collecting points from the moment they enter and it will not back date for them.’
Hurry though, the first ball of the league season is just hours away!
