All the bare ends have gone and there is a full growth of grass across most of the two squares.
This all follows this year’s Autumn renovation work which was the most extensive ever undertaken by the club and was carried out by AT Bone contractors who have also recently been laying four new strips at The Oval – so we’re in good company.
The main work on the top square has removed the saddles, or the humps at both ends, which will make the square flatter.
Subsequent work cut grooves in the surface ready for the seed, fertiliser and top dressing (soil) which has also been applied.
In a few weeks or so, a further process is deep spiking to aerate the square and to encourage better root growth.
The result should provide a surface that will be much improved and one that every player will benefit from.
This highlights our aim to provide playing surfaces that are top drawer on which everyone enjoys playing.
This work was sponsored by the Beach House in Marbella and Amaro Signalling. Without their support this invaluable work would not have been possible.
